Dashboard
The dashboard (/dashboard) is your central hub. Click "Get your mailbox" to generate a fresh temporary inbox with your chosen duration.
Reading Emails
Click any email in the inbox list to open it. The email reader supports both plain text and HTML rendering. HTML emails are sandboxed in an iframe — styles and images render faithfully while scripts are blocked for security.
Attachments (if present) are listed below the email body with download links. Supported types include images, PDFs, documents, and archives.
Tip
Toggle between HTML and Plain Text views using the tabs above the email body. Some emails look better in one format over the other.
Extending Sessions
Before your session expires, click the extend button to add more time. Each extension adds 10 minutes. You can extend multiple times — there's no hard limit. The maximum total duration is 60 minutes from the current moment.
Warning
Once a mailbox expires, it cannot be recovered. All emails and data are permanently deleted from Redis. Extend before the timer hits zero.
Permanent Mailboxes
Permanent mailboxes are free email addresses that never expire. They're tied to your account and persist forever — through server restarts, updates, and everything else.
To create a permanent mailbox, navigate to the Permanent section in the dashboard sidebar. You'll be prompted to set a label, optional custom prefix, and a mandatory password. The password is used for mailbox login.
Mailbox Login
Each permanent mailbox can be accessed independently at /mailbox — similar to Roundcube or any webmail client. Enter the mailbox email address and password to sign in and view emails.
You can also share the direct link (found in the mailbox detail view) which only requires the password — no email address needed. This is useful for giving someone access to a specific mailbox without sharing the full address.
Tip
You can change a mailbox password at any time from the mailbox detail view in the dashboard. The direct link stays the same — only the password changes.
Note
Permanent mailboxes require a free account. Sign up with Discord or email to get started. No credit card required, no limits on how many you can create.
Custom Aliases
Aliases let you create forwarding rules. Create a custom alias that forwards all incoming email to one of your permanent mailboxes. Useful for signing up to different services with unique addresses.
QR Generator
Generate a QR code for any of your mailbox addresses. Share it physically — print on business cards, stickers, or conference badges — and receive emails directly in your MinuteMail inbox.
Privacy Report
The privacy report shows a summary of your data footprint in MinuteMail. See how many mailboxes, emails, and aliases you have, and confirm that no tracking data is stored.
